If I see one more women open the door for herself, walk up to the waiter and put her name on the waiting list, sit at the table have dinner and then pay for the check, I think I am going to scream. Or better yet co-sign for his ride or his apartment. What is really going on? Don’t these women know that they deserve more? Are we so desperate for a man that we accept the first thing smiling and paying us a complement? Are we really that afraid to beone?
What happened to the days of men protecting, providing and proclaiming as Steve Harvey so eloquently put it, in his book “Act like a woman, think like a man”? I’ve come to realize that it’s not the men, it’s the WOMEN! If a woman does not know her worth, then a man is not going to try to treat her as if she’s worth it. Women have the power. Since the beginning of time, the sole motivation of a man’s pursuit of success is to get a woman. If he can have the woman without it, (the car, the house, and the money) then he can have his cake and eat it too.
Women should not be lowering their standards to get a man; a man should be stepping up his game to get her. Will this mean we may be single a little while longer until the right one comes along? Perhaps! But, aren’t you worth it. You’ve worked hard to get where you are, you deserve a man who is going to walk beside you not behind you.
